Our Mission

NYC Global Center serves a diverse, foreign-born population for whom English is a second language. This institution strives to realize two primary goals:

Improve students’ ability to comprehend the English language; and

Our amazing #ESL students spent the afternoon at the Museum of the City of New York (which is donation-based on Wednesdays!) getting the ultimate insider tour from Teacher Catherine. Students practiced our English, explored the exhibits, and even caught some snow in the Conservatory Garden. ❄️

Meet Paula ✨

Paula believes that building confidence is the first step toward mastering a new language. Her classes are designed to be inclusive and supportive, helping students refine their communication skills for real-world success.

She brings over 15 years of experience to NYC Global Center, holding a Bachelor’s in Education and graduate degrees in English Methodology and Brazilian Culture. As a New York State-licensed TESOL instructor, Paula is passionate about empowering students to reach their academic and professional goals.
